As a part of the networking event three CEE creatives was presenting their projects, practice or research.
Julia Anna Simonchuk an artist from Ukraine, who’s territory of interests are power (political, religious, ideological), monumentalism and demonumentalisation, propaganda, architecture and the body, culturally-specific phenomena, socially-engaging practice, presented her works in field of post-socialism, decolonisation and psychoanalysis.
Simina Neagu is an artist, curator and writer based in London. She works primarily with text that takes the shape of digital works, publications, events, exhibitions, installations and more recently, moving image work.
Informed by her own experience of migration, she presented her projects have explored structures, collectively and multiple, overlooked histories.
An artist Anya Kashina and independent curator and writer Borbala Komjaty presented their project ‘Collective East’. This is an independent project promoting the work of artists and cultural practitioners from the Central and Eastern European region. C.E. was born out of a desire for more connection, collaboration and support between creatives of Central and Eastern European background based in the U.K.
