BIOGRAPHY:
Maria X is a curator, producer and researcher in digital and networked performance.
She is currently completing her PhD in Art and Computational Technologies at the Goldsmiths
Digital Studios, University of London. Maria collaborated with Fournos Centre (Athens, Greece)
as Programme Manager (1996-2000) and Co-director (2000-2002). In 1998 she co-founded Medi@terra festival (Athens). Maria has also worked as Community Participation Officer
(The Albany, 2003-2005) and has worked as a Lecturer at Richmond American International
University as well as Birkbeck and Goldsmiths, University of London. In 2007 Maria initiated
and co-directed the three-day festival INTIMACY Across Digital and Visceral Performance.
Maria is also Coordinator and Board Member for the Thursday Club series of events (Goldsmiths), collaborator of Deptford TV and co-editor of the forthcoming book Interfaces of Performance (Ashgate). Maria has lectured at numerous conferences and published in journals and books.
